What is stippling?

In art, stippling refers to the process of drawing or painting numerous small dots to simulate different degrees of solidity or shading in a drawing. The closer the dots are to each other, the darker and more solid the area becomes. In stippling, all dots must have the same color. I normally start with a sketch (full outline) and then start the stippling process - the sketch normally takes an hour or two and is pretty rough. The detail comes as I input the dots....

Great Artwork takes time...

Did you know that these artworks can take up to 120 hours to complete (look for the dragon in our catalogue - it took just over 120 hours). To be able to reproduce and sell these prints makes them much easier and cost effective for people to own them. I work on multiple pieces at the same time to ensure I don't get "bored". Giclee Prints

Our giclee prints are printed in Australia with only top quality materials. We use high quality cotton paper as our standard for giclee printing. All of our materials meet and exceed the standards set forth by the Fine Art Trade Guild for pH and lightfastness.

Our paper

We only use acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a natural textured finish. This paper has an extremely-high color gamut and black density.

Caring for your prints

Giclée fine art prints are renowned for their extreme longevity and for delivering near-perfect integrity to an original work in terms of colours, brush-strokes and textures. Which is why they are displayed in the world’s finest museums, art galleries and private art collections

- Giclée prints should be cared for in the same way as an original piece of art

- This means that dirt, dust, moisture, oils, adhesives, solvents, heat, and anything that could scratch, dent or crease the paper should all be avoided when you are handling your print
- Only handle the print with clean, dry hands (it’s probably very unlikely, but if you own a pair of white cotton gloves then they are perfect for the job, but if not, freshly cleaned hands will do) as skin oils can stain the paper
- Use two hands to support your print and hold it by the edges, that way it will not bend and you will avoid finger-smudges on the face of the print. As dents, creases and oily marks could be permanent

- Keep your new giclée print covered with the acid-free tissue paper that it was posted with (or the acid-free protective sleeve for smaller prints) until it is framed, to avoid damage

- Don’t use your hands to wipe off any dust as this can also damage the surface of your giclée print. Instead, use a dry, clean, white lint-free cloth or a photographer’s lens-brush
